A year ago today, Chicagoan Barack Obama was elected 44th President of the United States. The next morning, well before the sun was up, Linda Paul and photographer Richard Cahan began their day at Altgeld Gardens. That’s the Chicago public housing development where Obama got his start as a community organizer. Residents there were elated and had some pretty high expectations for the country and their community. And now, one year later, Rich and Linda have returned—for an audio snapshot of this small community.
